Tarot as an Embodied Practice

Tarot as an Embodied Practice?

Tarot is a guide and a system in which we can explore our inner and outer experiences.

Tarot not as the fear-inducing future predicting disempowering weird shit thing?

Yes.

Well, fancy that, who knew?

Let me explain.

How about Tarot as a storyboard, one in which you can attune to the image and the story of the card, notice your responses, your felt sense, how your nervous system responds, how your core beliefs and old stories surface, how your perceptions of this situation trigger you, with a curiosity and let you observe all of this experience?

And from this place, move closer to your most authentic self who got lost behind all the trauma imprints.

How about Tarot in the present moment, the images and the stories helping you put words, and emotion to what is familiar when you can’t move from feeling stuck, in freeze, flight, or dorsal shutdown?

Tarot can give you the trust and inspiration to come back to your body with safety, connection, and belonging.

Tarot reminds us that our human experience has been around for some time and has learned a few things along the way.

One of the things that makes relationships to become so traumatic is that it can be really hard to accept the truth of where people are at. Healing becomes possible when we deeply listen and see ourselves and others for where we are and who we are.

How about the Tarot that is here to show us our unfolding stories, our human experience, from the embodiment and behaviour of the pentacles, the emotion of the cups, the intellect of the swords, and the energy of the wands.

When we weave this into our lives in a conscious way, we claim our aliveness.

Tarot shows us where Internal Family Systems are used, where childhood trauma, patterns of shame, guilt, and fear and present, AND how to bring them to the light for healing, giving us the guidance and education we need.

It is our responsibility to recognise ourselves in the cards, in each story, and with this responsibility use it to move us to better health.

How about the Tarot being the ultimate Trauma Therapist, one which is highly present, sensitively attuned, and well boundaried with heartfelt empathic engagement?
