I’ve decided to reduce my pricing

Unusual to see Reduced pricing, I know, which is one of the reasons I want to offer this. With all pricing increasing and stress levels high around the cost of living we need to find a place where we can easily access support, without cost being an issue.

It occurred to me recently that this needs attention. I have always struggled with pricing my offerings and it never felt truly comfortable. There is a culture in the therapy communities that says higher pricing shows your worth, and the commitment you have made to the years of (expensive) training. Part of me understands this and agrees with it.

However, another part, one which feels stronger and more authentic, also knows how much I love this work. Being able to support others when they are most vulnerable and in need feels a blessing to me.

I too have been the client in desperate need, the client in need of general support and education, the client in need of guidance and inspiration. The chances are I will be again.

I was inspired when I read the blog of a peer this week, talking about this issue, and it allowed me to see the real value and my worth more clearly.

With this in mind, I have reduced all my session work to a sliding scale. Given that I work from home with no direct overheads, my costs are towards my ongoing support and supervision and at present, training costs. Insurance and accreditation are a cost too. With that, and a salary that feels comfortable, my hope is that the costs are a true reflection of the pricing.

The sliding scale begins at £40, however, I am open to what you can afford and this is something we can discuss. I ask that you (or anyone you know who would benefit), do not to let the costs of therapy stop you from reaching out. This should be available to all and there is always a way. Let us work it out together.
